Here's a quick, easy and comforting dish to put together on a cold, rainy day

Chicken asparagus egg drop soup ingredients: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 medium-sized onion, sliced thinly. 1/2 kilo chicken breast, de-boned. 5 cups water or chicken stock. 1 medium-sized carrot, jullienned. 10 pieces asparagus, cut into 2-inch lengths. 2 eggs. 1 head Chinese cabbage (Baguio pechay). salt and pepper, to taste

Chicken asparagus egg drop soup recipe: 1- heat oil in a pot. Saute garlic and onions until soft and fragrant. 2- Add chicken and cook for a few minutes. 3- Add water or stock; season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boll, then low heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add carrots and asparagus: Cook until tender. 4- When ready to serve, stir in eggs and add cabbage to the piping hot soup. Serve hot. By then, the chicken asparagus is ready
