Five-spice fish with tomato-basil sauce

Here's an impressive aromatic dish that's flavored with five-spice and lemongrass. Try it with chicken, too

Tomato Basil Fish Sauce ingredients: 1 kilo cream dory fillet or any white fish fillet, sliced into 2-inch pieces. Salt and pepper, to season. 2 tablespoons Chinese five-spice powder. 3 lemongrass bulbs, pounded and chopped. 2 tablespoons minced garlic. juice from 1 lemon. vegetable or peanut oil for frying

For the sauce: 1 tablespoon vegetable or peanut oil. 5 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 kilo ripe tomatoes, seeded and sliced. 1 cup basil leaves, sliced into strips. 2 tablespoons sugar. 3 tablespoons honey. juice from 1 lemon. salt and pepper, to taste

Tomato Basil Fish Sauce recipe: 1- Season fish with salt, pepper, and Chinese five-spice. Add chopped lemongrass, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Set aside and marinate for 30 minutes. 2- Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry each fish until cooked through. Set aside. 3- Make the tomato-basil sauce: Heat oil in a wok saute garlic and tomatoes. Add basil leaves and simmer over low heat. 4- Add sugar, honey, and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 5- Arrange fish and a platter Serve with the tomato-basil mixture on the side. By then, the tomato Basil Fish Sauce is ready
