When it comes to Windows phone 8, Microsoft reckons you can't do better than the HTC 8X, and has chosen it as the signature device for its new operation system. the handset is available in a vivid array of colors; you can play it safe with black, be a little more adventurous with blue, or go all out with the red or neon yellow options. The cleverly crafted phone feels impossibly thin in the hand thanks to the 8X's tapered edges, but is, in fact, 10.1mm in depth. Tipping the scales at 130g, you'll hardly notice it's there and the 4.3-inch HD display makes the HTC 8X a comfortable size in your hand. Thanks to its high-resolution screen, scrolling through your contacts, tapping out message and watching videos is a pleasure and offers a crisp, clear and bright representation of what you're looking at. Storage-wise you get 16GB of internal memory, but that's your lot. There’s no microSD card to expand it, but HTC does offer all its customers 25GB of free Dropbox cloud storage, and Microsoft makes 7GB available in its SkyDrive service. Windows phone 8 is more of an incremental upgrade rather than a re-imagining, but that's no bad thing and it zips along happily on the HTC 8X, allowing you to glide through menus and apps with ease. contact organization has always been HTC's forte and you won't be disappointed here, with the HTC 8X seamlessly merging all your friends from Google, SIM, Facebook, Twitter and more together pulling though profile pictures and other information, such as birthday, photo albums and status updates. The HTC 8X handles your music with aplomb. Dr Dre's Beats Audio technology enhances your tunes not only via a set of headphones, but also through the internal speaker, which is better than on most rival handsets. You'll appreciate Beats if your songs are bass-heavy, but there's an audible improvement across the scale, from Bach to Benny Benassi

Full of features
Video playback is equally pleasing. The 720p HD display is more than adequate if you want to watch a feature length film, and the soft-touch back and sleek body mean the handset is easy to hold for extended periods. The HTC 8X sports and 8MP camera on the back that provides you with a solid shooting experience, and single LED flash. It's not as good as the Lumia 920, but the HTC 8C will most casual snappers happy, there's also a front-facing 2.1MP camera with an extra wide aperture, allowing you to cram in the more mates for a status update. Unfortunately it's not all good news, as the battery life is a concern on the HTC 8X. In our tests the handset struggled to see out a whole day, even with moderate use. IF you're a heavy user you'll need to carry a charger with you. In the internal lineup of Windows Phone 8 handsets, the HTC 8X is our favorite. It blends the right amount of design and desirability with power and features to provide a slick and proficient smart phone which will turn heads
