Acer aspire 7600U the big screen pc that means business

The Acer aspire 7600U is a giant among desktops, but offers style on the side, When world of desktop computing is changing at an astonishing rate, and hardly a day passes without a bigger, better take on windows 8, Acer has followed the likes of Dell and created a flagship PC- an all in one with a huge 27-inch Screen

The all in one term means that all the hardware is packed behind the display. The only extras are the wireless keyboard and mouse, which match the PC's glossy, jet black styling. That doesn't mean it lack power, though. There's an impressive Nvidia GeForce GT64m processor for tackling intense visuals and games, but the headline features are the Blu-ray drive, 1TB hard drive and HDMI sockets that let you hook up an Xbox or media streamer. The Aspire 7600U has excellent media credentials- not only is it display huge, it also has a high resolution and produces a good depth of color

Shine a light
Aspire 7600U designed fits equally well in the home office and the lounge, It looks like an HD TV, and it wasn't for the illuminated Acer logo, friends and family wouldn't believe that it was a PC at all. Sadly, the Audio options are confusing and there's a loud but unbalanced sound that's acceptable for music playback, but not great for watching movies on disc or via a media streamer. To get the best from the Aspire 7600U's internal components and the impressive audio options of Windows 8, you'll need to find a pair of matching black speakers
The Screen Itself is heavy, and it anchored by a giant plinth, with means you'll a very big disk to accommodate your keyboard and mouse if you want to sit a comfortable distance from the screen. In use the Aspire 7600U is very quiet, the fan is located at the tap near the standby button, Which remains illuminated at all times, This is slightly surprising and distracting when not in use, as a line of LEDs point towards the button. If you have the space, The Aspire 7600U will happily tilt forward and sit on your desk, hiding the plinth, which explaining the transparent plastic at bottom of the screen bezel. The touch sensitivity and resolution are good, thought you'll want to wipe away the inevitable smears before enjoying Blu-ray movies, and invest in some desktop speakers to boost the sound

Office Assistant
The Aspire 7600U really comes into its own in day-to office use. Its screen is large enough to display a full-size word document alongside a web page, making it ideal for anyone who finds a dual screen setup ugly, The aspire lacks the huge resolution of the Dell XPS one 27, meaning it doesn't quit have the same amount of screen space. There’s 8GB of RAM inside, which helps keep the speed up, and the 1TB hard drive can house a huge number of photos, songs and videos
The webcam is discreetly placed at the tap of the display and is ideal for the Skype and portrait photos, We were impressed by the image quality and motion tracking is excellent, you won't be able to resist waving at yourself on -screen when you set up your windows 8 profile picture
The Aspire 7600U is in many ways the ideal family computer, happy to sit in a large lounge or home office. The design is a step forward for Acer and although the illuminated logo and power bottom are odds with the minimal sleekness of the general design. It’s still a head turning machine, in term of value Acer has packed in a hardware specification aimed at the general user rather than professional, but with brilliant extras like the Blu-ray driver and wireless keyboard and mouse. The aspire 7600U is an impressive and attractive introduction to windows 8
