Chocolate Lavender Macarons recipe and ingredients

After mastering the basic macaron shell recipe, try this luxurious twist on the usual chocolate confection

Make 96 (2-inch) pieces Perp Time 2 hours 45 minutes, plus 3 hours drying time Baking Time 10 to 15 minutes

Ingredients for the Macaron shells: 2 recipes macaron shells, divided. 20 grams cocoa powder. 2 grams red or brown food coloring. 2 grams purple food coloring


Ingredients for the chocolate-Lavender filling: 188 grams melted dark chocolate. 750 grams Italian butter cream. lavender extract to taste

Chocolate Lavender Macarons recipe: 1- Make the chocolate macaron shells: using the base recipe, add cocoa powder to the dry ingredients in step 1 and proceed with the recipe, using red or brown food coloring to tint the shells. 2- Make the lavender macaron shells: Prepare another batch of macaron shells using the base recipe, but use purple food coloring to tint the shells. 3- Make the chocolate-lavender filling: Fold melted dark chocolate into the prepared Italian butter cream. Add lavender extract to taste. 4- To assemble, sandwich filling between one chocolate shell and one lavender shell. Repeat with remaining components

Tip: To make plain chocolate macarons, prepare the macaron shells as instructed make the chocolate filling by folding in 94 grams, melted dark chocolate into 375 grams prepared Italian butter cream. This makes 48 pieces
