Give the classic panna cotta a special touch by adding some
sweet caramel to the mix
Caramel Panna Cotta |
Serve 6 to 8 Prep Time 25 minutes, plus refrigerating time
Ingredients for the caramel: 30 grams sugar. 30 grams
butter. 30 grams cream. 3 tablespoons water. 1 (7-gram) envelope unflavored
gelatin. 500 grams heavy cream. 50 grams sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Whipped cream, caramel sauce, and colored chocolate balls for garnish
Caramel Panna Cotta recipe: 1- Make the caramel: Combine all
ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until sugar has dissolved.
2- Increase heat to medium and cook for 5 more minutes or until the caramel is
amber in color and has slightly thickened. Remove from heat and transfer to
another container to cool. 2- In a microwavable bowl. Combine water and
gelatin. Stir and let stand for 4 minutes or until gelatin has expanded. Microwave
for 40 seconds. Stir to dissolve gelatin granules. 3- In another saucepan over
medium heat, combine cream and sugar. Cook until sugar has dissolved. 4- Add
vanilla, caramel, and gelatin to the cream and sugar mixture, Stir to combine,
Remove from heat and pour into desired serving molds. Allow to cool to room
temperature. Chill for a minimum for 3 hours of overnight to set. Pipe whipped
cream on top and drizzle with caramel sauce. Garnish with chocolate balls, if
desired. Serve chilled
